Job Title: Onward Sales Activation Manager

Business Unit: Transformation

Location: Florida

Reports To: Senior Sales Activator Manager

 

Role Summary

The Sales Activation Manager is responsible for leading a team of Sales Activators who serve as the front-line drivers of distribution, merchandising, and retail engagement. This role combines sales leadership, distributor collaboration, and grassroots brand activation to ensure flawless retail execution, increased market penetration, and strong customer relationships. The Sales Activation Manager will guide the team in building lasting partnerships with retailers, securing shelf space, selling in new items, and driving impactful in-store activations that grow revenue and brand visibility.

 

Responsibilities

  • Team leadership and development
  • Recruit, train, retain, and lead Sales Activators to deliver best-in-class execution at retail.
  • Set performance goals, provide coaching, and track results to ensure alignment with sales and marketing objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.

Retail sales and merchandising

  • Lead the team in executing distribution gains, new item sell-ins, and promotional activity across assigned accounts.
  • Secure optimal product placement, shelf space, and POS displays to maximize brand visibility.
  • Ensure compliance with Perfect Store standards and report on competitive activity and opportunities.
  • Grow revenue, distribution, and market share across managed markets.

Distribution and wholesaler collaboration

  • Partner with distributor sales teams to increase points of distribution and sales velocity.
  • Lead participation in wholesaler meetings, product launches, and joint sales programming.
  • Provide feedback and tools to distributors to enhance execution and communication.
  • Strengthen distributor and retail partnerships that drive long-term growth.

Activation and community engagement

  • Direct the execution of in-store activations, sampling events, and grassroots campaigns that build consumer awareness and trial. Deliver high ROI on activations and brand-building efforts.
  • Build strong relationships with retailers, community partners, and key stakeholders to position the brand as a trusted partner.
  • Support national marketing and account programming with localized execution.

Analytics and reporting

  • Monitor KPIs including sales growth, market share, distribution gains, and merchandising compliance.
  • Provide timely reporting and insights into retail trends, promotional effectiveness, and team performance.
  • Manage budgets and resources to ensure cost-effective, high-impact execution.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in sales, brand activation, or field leadership, including 3+ years managing multi-market teams.
  • Proven success in retail account management, distributor collaboration, and merchandising execution.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to turn insights into action.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as cannabis, alcohol, or CPG is strongly preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to Travel as needed to support business and team goals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

  • Frequently required to move/traverse throughout entire facility, including tight spaces.
  • Accurately communicate and exchange sensitive information and ideas with others, including members of the public; observe/inspect details at varying ranges; operate computing devices.
  • Frequently required to manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights (e.g., products, packaging, tools, office machinery): push/pull objects up to 25lbs; lift/carry/position objects up to 25 lbs.; ascend/descend stool/ladder/steps; position self and/or objects at floor level (e.g., crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl).
  • Must have visual and auditory acuity with or without aids to perform all functions of the position.
  • Occasionally required to remain in a seated position.

WORK SCHEDULE

45+ hours weekly with flexible hours and travel as needed. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

Travel up to 50% of work schedule to support the needs of the business.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.   A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
