MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Shipboard Maintenance Technician to join our team in Oxnard, CA (Port Hueneme). This is an on-site position. As a Shipboard Maintenance Technician, you will support the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Underway Replenishment (UNREP) Division’s maintenance efforts for Military Sealift Command (MSC) platforms. You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting UNREP equipment, providing operational support and maintenance at the UNREP Test Site and aboard U.S. Naval Ships (USNS).Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on UNREP equipment onboard USNS platforms during maintenance availabilities and at the UNREP Test SiteMust possess a valid US Passport and have the ability to travel internationally to complete UNREP maintenance for extended periods (trip duration can last in excess of 3 months, with trips totaling 50% of work year)Assist with the overhaul of UNREP equipment such as the Navy Standard Transmission at the UNREP Test SiteCollaborate with senior engineers and ship managers to organize and complete maintenance tasks for UNREP systemsAssist with the preparation and planning of future UNREP equipment maintenance eventsComplete detailed reports documenting ship visits, maintenance actions, and equipment support providedCommunicate effectively with senior leadership, co-workers, and customers to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth maintenance processesUse wiring lists, schematics, blueprints, and written/verbal instructions to route, tag, test, and terminate shipboard cablesFollow all technical manuals and safety procedures for safe equipment overhaul and operability testingPerform other duties as assigned related to ship maintenance and operationsMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED equivalent2+ years of experience in the US Navy/MSC technical rating, automotive or oil industry, or similar fields requiring maintenance on large-scale equipment2+ years of technical maintenance experiencePreferred Qualifications:Experience with UNREP and/or other Navy equipment operation and maintenanceFamiliarity with Shipyard and NAVSEA installation requirements and supporting documentationProficiency with reading and interpreting schematics, wiring lists, and technical manualsStrong communication skills and ability to work professionally with employees, clients, and managementProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accuratelyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamClearance Requirements:Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance prior to starting the positionPhysical Requirements:Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the timeAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbsAbility to climb multiple flights of stairs, planks, or galleyways and work in confined spacesAbility to operate standard office equipment (computers, printers, etc.)Capability to go onboard ships and work in an industrial and operational environmentAbility to climb ladders and go through scuttles onboard vessels
