Outreach Specialist Job Role


  • The Perkins Leadership Outreach Specialist supports Ranger College’s Perkins Leadership Grant. This role is responsible for carrying out the measurable goals outlined in the Perkins Leadership proposal, coordinating community and high school outreach, developing sustainable services addressing student barriers, and contributing to research-based publications and resources that model effective practices for other community colleges. Ensure all interactions are handled with professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality. This role will begin Dec 1, 2025 and is grant funded through August 31, 2026.

Perkins Leadership Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and attend college fairs.
  • Conduct outreach visits to high schools.
  • Develop and distribute outreach materials highlighting CTE pathways and supports for special populations.
  • Administer the Perkins questionnaire each semester.
  • Coordinate with the Ranger REACH Basic Needs team to provide resource connections and student support.
  • Integrate essential and soft skills training activities into outreach or workshop events.
  • Collaborate with the Data Analyst to track and monitor CTE student credential completions each semester using Institutional Research data.

Ranger REACH Pantry Duties

Assist with all pantry-related items and help ensure pantry responsibilities are completed efficiently and in compliance with guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with pantry setup, stocking, and organization of food items.
  • Greet and assist clients as they enter the pantry in a respectful and supportive manner.
  • Help clients complete the H1555 Household Application for USDA Foods, as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pantry environment.
  • Lift and carry light to moderate-weight items (food boxes, bags, etc.).

General Office Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day office operations and serve as a point of contact for visitors and calls.
  • Assist with scheduling, filing, and maintaining organized office records.
  • Prepare and submit grant-related purchase orders (POs) and other spending requests.
  • Water and maintain the office garden as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least one-year related work experience.


PAY RATE:  Highly competitive and commensurate with experience and credentials. Group health and life insurance (60 day waiting period for health) and retirement benefits (TRS or ORP). Optional benefits include disability and dental insurance.
