Fabricate complex parts using CNC mills, lathes and other tools for the use on production equipment used to assemble windows and doors. Provide assistance to Maintenance Technicians to resolve machine issues.Responsibilities:• Program, setup and operate CNC mills and lathes to meet tolerance and finish specifications in a short run environment per provided prints• Read, interpret and follow complex prints and work orders to create CNC programs, fixtures, jigs and assemblies• Provide technical assistance to Maintenance staff, Machine Design and Manufacturing Engineering to create reliable equipment by providing support on machine improvements• Repair clean, lubricate and maintain all equipment in shop• Utilize, calibrate and maintain calipers, micrometers, dial indicators and other precision measuring equipment• Fully understand and be able to machine the different material types, ie: Different metals, plastics and their hardness, metallurgical properties and characteristics• Utilize Mastercam to post to the CNC machines and provide Mastercam training to Machinist• Directs and provides coaching and training of Machinist 1Qualifications• 2-year degree in Machine Tool Technics, Machine Tool Technology, or equivalent + 2 or more years’ experience• Shop math skills; fractions, decimals, must be able to calculate and understand basic Trig and Geometry including radiuses, diameters, angles, etc.• Must have a basic knowledge of measuring tools such as micrometers, dial calipers, depth gauges, thread gauges, and dial indicators• Must be able to perform all functions on the vertical mill including, slotting, facing, and the positioning of holes and most lathe functions.• Must be able to program all CNC machines using G-code and conversational programming• Must possess an extensive knowledge of different tooling used in the shop and feed and speed rates to produces part as efficiently as possible• Must be able to fabricate a new part from a broken or worn part a technician brings them.Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process.
