Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of clerical duties involving word processing, filing and maintaining records or reports in support of a school or District function.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
Clerk Typist II provide clerical support to other clerical or secretarial staff and perform some assignments independently. Clerk Typist III performs specialized clerical duties or provides sole clerical support for an assigned function. Incumbents are required to exercise independent judgment and may be assigned lead duties.
Position Duties
Operate a variety of office equipment, such as personal computer and/or typewriter, calculator and copy machines.
Using a word processor, key stroke letters, memoranda, bulletins, reports, schedules, lists, forms or other materials from straight copy or rough draft.
Maintain a variety of logs, records and files related to assigned office.
Distribute various forms and provide information and assistance to students, parents, the public and staff regarding their completion in an accurate and timely manner.
Answer telephones; take and relay messages; greet students and the public and provide routine information; direct inquiries to the appropriate person or office; make phone calls to request, provide or verify information as directed.
Maintain supply and material inventory of assigned area; order, receive and distribute materials, equipment and supplies.
Assure the timely duplication and distribution of a variety of records, reports and other materials.
Perform clerical work such as posting records, making arithmetic computations and securing information from clearly indicated sources.
Schedule appointments and meetings; maintain various schedules and calendars.
Sort and distribute incoming U.S. and inter-District mail.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and one year clerical experience.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Incumbents in this class require oral and written abilities in second designated language.
The District's ROP Office Occupation or Adult School Keyboarding Certificate will be accepted in lieu of District typing test providing the ability to keyboard at 40 words net per minute from a clear copy is demonstrated and certified by the Program Administrator. The incumbents program certification date must be within 12 months of application submission.
