We're seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our team as substitute teachers. Whether you're a recent graduate, a retired professional, a stay-at-home parent, or simply passionate about education, this is your opportunity to inspire students and support schools - on your own schedule.
Pay is $16.00/hour. This position operates on an on-call basis, meaning you will be contacted as needed to fulfill your duties. Consequently, your schedule can fluctuate from day to day, offering a dynamic work environment. While this may require adaptability, it also grants you significant flexibility, allowing you to balance your work commitments with personal time more effectively.
Job Summary
The Substitute Teacher is a key member of the classroom team, helping provide quality education for children and their families. Their primary responsibility is to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
They plan engaging activities that support the children's development and build strong relationships to promote their growth. Additionally, they must communicate well with staff and families and maintain consistent routines to give stability during the regular teacher's absence.
To succeed in this role, you must be open to working on random days of the week and month. Your assignment will typically last for at least one week or longer. If you agree to take on an assignment, you must show up. If you decide on an assignment and don't show up, you may be subject to disciplinary action.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Must complete CPR/First Aid Training within 90 days of hire
- Must complete a Food Handler's permit course within 60 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Child Development Associate Preschool Credential
- Previous Head Start experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
