NTN Bearing Corporation has an outstanding job opportunity for a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Specialist at our Wheeling Illinois Test Lab. We manufacture and supply the most comprehensive range of bearings, constant velocity joints, and other precision industrial and automotive equipment to meet a variety of applications, across a variety of industries. The NTN Product Analysis Group is tasked with the inspection of both new and failed bearings. Within this group, it is the primary responsibility of the CMM Specialist to program and operate the CMM for a wide range of bearing-related measurement studies. The CMM Specialist will also be responsible for operating multiple other precision measurement instruments in the laboratory. It is essential that individuals working in this area exhibit excellent technical aptitude and safe work habits.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Program and operate the CMM for bearing-related measurement projects
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate a diverse array of metrology equipment
- Collaborate with engineers and metallurgists to investigate a wide range of bearing-related projects
- Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers to schedule service and acquire related equipment
- Maintain detailed machine operation and maintenance records
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years of daily CMM operating experience in a professional environment.
- Preference given to those with PC-DMIS training: Ideally Level 2 or Level 3 certified.
- Must have 2-Year Technical or associate degree in industrial or scientific field preferred
- Desired Schooling: Mechanical Engineering Technology / equivalent
- Knowledge of current safety and environmental best practices
- Knowledge and experience using MS Office
- Individuals must be able to collaborate with and take direction from peers
- Ability to work independently on multiple simultaneous projects and drive each to formal conclusion.
