Position Overview & General Responsibilities:
The Clinical Nurse Supervisor is primarily responsible for coordinating clinical services for Independent Living residents. This role also provides oversight and supervision to the Assisted Living, Memory Support, and Catered Living neighborhoods to ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality care. Additionally, the Clinical Nurse Supervisor supports employee onboarding by administering required drug screenings and PPDs in collaboration with HR team. In the absence of the AL/MS Coordinator, this position assumes their responsibilities to maintain continuity of care and operations.
- Coordinate and oversee clinical services for Independent Living residents, including labs, foot/ear care, dressing changes, immunizations, COVID/flu testing, suture removal, and more
- Support employee health services, including administering oral drug screenings, PPDs.
- Respond to medical emergencies, assess needs, and guide appropriate next steps
- Provide RN-level supervision and oversight for Assisted Living, Memory Support, and Catered Living areas
- Support regulatory compliance through accurate assessments and documentation (UAI, ISP)
- Serve as a resource and back-up to the AL/MC Clinical Coordinator
- Supervise and support RMAs and Direct Care Assistants
- Dispense medications and perform treatments as needed
- Participate in disciplinary actions and coaching when necessary
- Complete documentation for admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Comfort collaborating amongst interdisciplinary teams to offer appropriate support and efficient and impactful training
- Accurately transcribe physician orders
- Participate in the on-call rotation
- Keep leadership informed of significant resident or staff concerns
- Foster strong communication with team members, residents, and families
- Attend and contribute to service plan meetings
- Maintain professional conduct, punctuality, and a positive, team-focused attitude
- Adhere to all company policies and regulatory guidelines
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Active RN licensure within the state of Virginia
- Valid Virginia driver’s license and meets driver eligibility requirements per Sunnyside Communities policy.
- Knowledge of management and supervisory principles and practices.
- Customer service skills; maintain a hospitality approach when engaging all individuals.
- Minimum of five years of management related experience.
- Knowledge of state and federal Medicare/Medicaid and Nursing Home and Assisting Living regulations.
- Prior experience with company utilized software – PointClickCare (PCC), Paylocity, OnShift, etc.
