Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Position Details

Perham Health provides management services and personnel to Perham Area EMS. Perham Area EMS provides patient care services to the cities of Perham, Dent, Richville, and surrounding rural areas. As part of the EMS team, the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) performs the following essential functions:

  • Responsible for delivering and administering high quality care and transportation to ill and injured persons.
  • Accompanies paramedics on emergency calls, assesses the situation upon approach and provides appropriate level emergency medical care on scene and during transport.
  • Assists with Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
  • Follows written and verbal physician orders on emergency calls and ambulance transfers.
  • Demonstrates clinical competency and compassion in providing for physical and emotional needs of patients.

What You Offer

  • Current certification as an Emergency Medical Technician with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and the Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board (EMSRB).
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider CPR certification.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Perham Health standards.
