The Lead Day Services Specialist (LDSS) is responsible for auditing program’s attendance records and Care Tracker entries within the iCM database, while also leading community-based activities and providing direct support and advocacy.

 

The LDSS ensures that each person’s experience in the program promotes maximum community participation, social inclusion, and increased independence. This includes planning and facilitating meaningful activities based on personal interests.  The role also involves frequent interaction with families, colleagues, and other members of the person’s support team, both internal and external to The Arc Baltimore.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review daily attendance and care tracker entries within the iCM database to ensure accuracy of recorded information and compliance with billing requirements within 24 hours.
  • Ensure review of attendance and care tracker entries is completed within 24 hours of documentation.
  • Document and communicate thorough summaries of attendance and care tracker corrections to ensure that DSPs correct deficiencies.Provide guidance and support to DSPs with completion of corrections.
  • Provide feedback to the center manager and program assistant on status of attendance review.Initiate the initial step in the attendance review process by marking attendance as “Done” and meets compliance requirements.
  • Attend and participate in LTSS billing meetings as scheduled.
  • Support people to lead fulfilling lives with a sense of belonging, purpose, and meaningful relationships.
  • Ensure all supported people are treated with dignity and respect.Support persons in achieving their goals and participating in chosen activities, ensuring alignment with their Person-Centered Plans, while maintaining accurate daily documentation of progress.
  • Assist with personal care as needed and contribute to the development of Person-Centered Plans by sharing insights into persons preferences, strengths, and challenges.
  • Ensure a safe work environment, provide behavioral support and medication administration as required, and transport individuals using agency or personal vehicles when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must be independent and self-directed
  • Must be at least 20 years of age
  • Valid Maryland driver’s license, clean driving record and three(3) or more years of driving experience
  • CMT certification 

Preferred:

  • Two (2) or more years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills necessary
  • Must work effectively within a team environment
  • Must be proficient with computer skills and Microsoft Office 
  • Must be proficient in iCM 
  • Must work effectively within a team environment


Working Conditions

  • Position requires frequent standing, walking and sitting
  • Driving and transporting people receiving services may be required in this position
  • The hours of operation for the position are Monday–Friday, 8:00-4:00pm.
  • Schedule flexibility may be required based on business needs
  • Some lifting up to 50lbs
  • Must be available by use of a personal cell phone
