Position Summary: The Network Manager must have a broad knowledge of network and telecommunications systems, as well as the interpersonal and organizational skills of a project manager to coordinate the technical equipment.  The Network Manager is expected to possess exceptional leadership and decision-making skills to coordinate others under their supervision, as well as a broad understanding of system configuration, firewall and intrusion detection systems, and information security management. 

 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Will report directly to the Director of IT Infrastructure
  • Lead and assist in complex network designs and configuration projects in association with cutting-edge network platforms.
  • Plan network installation and/or upgrade projects, assign milestone tasks to support personnel and meet company deadlines for full implementation, including network and user station set-ups and permissions, installation of all software and end-user security.
  • Meet with the IT leadership to discuss internal and external data communication networks whenever there is a need for new systems or additional technological support.
  • Lead a team of network engineers in the execution of IT projects; assign and supervise network support staff in their daily activities and special projects.
  • Design organizational network security infrastructure and monitor its implementation.
  • Research and examine new system advancements and present recommendations for upgrading existing infrastructure.
  • Arrange and install network hardware and software.
  • Screen network performance and plan functional networks.
  • Make and implement network security measures.
  • Delegate network maintenance tasks.

 

 

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related area and 8+ years of industry-related experience.
  • Strong foundation in organizational management and engineering.
  • Understanding of protocols such as TCP/IP, SMTP, SSL, FTP, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN
  • Familiarity with control models and system security.
  • Strong comprehension of system working frameworks (Cisco IOS, Juniper, Aruba, Fortinet, Barracuda, F5 and other leading industry technology)
  • Sharp investigating facilities
  • Capacity to work independently
  • Proven experience in managing and leading a team of network engineers.
  • Proven track record of implementing successful network solutions and achieving organizational goals.
  • Knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery.
  • Extensive knowledge of common networking technologies and devices including LAN, WAN, Routers, switches, DNS and DHCP.
  • Knowledge of server and computer networks; VoIP telephone systems, SharePoint, MS Exchange, MS SQL, VMWARE Sphere 6 and up, Active Directory
  • Azure experience is required.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage and simultaneously execute on multiple tasks.
  • Collaborative approach problem solving.
  • Work collaboratively with other technical personnel as appropriate .
  • Must be willing to be part of a team that operates on an on-call basis.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong attention to detail.
