About Students 2 Science:

Students 2 Science’s mission is to inspire and empower all students through hands-on learning experiences, encouraging them to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to strengthen the future workforce. Through Students 2 Science’s STEM programs, students will build a greater understanding of STEM, enhance technical skills, and be provided with information and guidance on STEM education and career pathways.

Description: 

  • This is an in-person position at our Apollo Technology Center in Whippany, NJ.
  • Internship duration: January to April 2026.
  • Interns may receive compensation via monetary stipend or college credits (with signed approval from appropriate parties within college/university).
  • This position is a minimum of 16 hours a week.
  • You will work at least 2 days a week between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (Monday to Friday).
  • You will gain meaningful hands-on work experience, develop technical lab skills, and develop foundational skills for the professional world.
  • You will immerse yourself in the daily operations of program development and implementation with the support of your internship team and leadership.

Responsibilites: 

  • Provide support for and encourage success for students participating in the day’s laboratory session.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and comfortable work environment for all students, teachers, and S2S staff members inside and outside of the lab.
  • Stage and prepare a clean work environment for the following day.
  • Assist lab instructors in the daily operations of program development and implementation.
  • Attend weekly meetings with instruction team and one-on-ones with your project manager.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • You are a college student from a community college, college, or university.
  • You are a resident of New Jersey.
  • Your major or concentration area is in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or similar major) or Education (Elementary Ed, Secondary Ed, or Special Ed).
  • You have completed at least 24 hours of college coursework at the time of applying.
  • You have completed Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Calculus at the high school or college level.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English. Good auditory and visual skills are required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Possess strong organization, interpersonal, and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with youth is a plus.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
