Position Summary

This position is responsible for receiving, storing and distributing supplies, equipment, and classroom furniture for the District and provides custodial support as needed.  Individuals in this position work Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

 

Essential Functions

Essential duties of this position include the following.  Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Receives District supplies, materials, office equipment, and furniture.
  • Stores District supplies, materials, office equipment, and furniture as directed.
  • Maintains a comprehensive and accurate inventory system.
  • Moves inventory, materials, equipment, supplies and mail as scheduled or requested to appropriate destinations safely within identified time constraints.
  • Operates large delivery vehicles, lifting equipment, and other material handling equipment safely as directed.
  • Refuels equipment and performs preventative maintenance checks on vehicles and operating equipment.
  • Routes and loads vehicles and material handling equipment for efficient and effective delivery.
  • Completes high volumes of computer data entry/order processing using District computer programs ensuring speed and accuracy.
  • Operates and utilizes District communications equipment.
  • Assists other staff and serves as back-up as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

 

Education/Experience

  • Associates degree or higher (attach diploma); OR
  • Completion of two years post-secondary study consisting of 72 credit hours, 48 semester units (attach transcripts); OR
  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED); AND
  • Three (3) months experience or equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.

Certificates, Licenses, Registration & Other Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR card.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a Class B Commercial Oregon Drivers license.
  • Ability to pass Safe Schools modules and custodial trainings as assigned.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a warehouse or inventory position.
  • Experience in custodial and or maintenance work, including understanding of cleaning methods and materials and the use of custodial equipment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (May be acquired through education, training, and/or experience.)

 

Knowledge of:

  • District policies and procedures;
  • Modern office practices and procedures;
  • Letter writing, correct language usage;
  • Receptionist, telephone and record keeping/filing systems;
  • Computer hardware and software programs and their usage for inventory;
  • Modern office equipment;
  • Safety and first aid practices and procedures;

Ability to:

  • Understand and apply District and school policies and procedures;
  • Maintain appropriate office appearance and attire;
  • Maintain regular and acceptable attendance and punctuality, as set forth in Board policy;
  • Provide information pertaining to area and/or District/School policies, procedures and other pertinent information;
  • Operate maintain and arrange for repair various office/school equipment;
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during the course of work and from diverse backgrounds;
  • Maintain records;
  • Utilize keyboarding skills commensurate with the required functions for this position;
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
  • Utilize appropriate grammar and spelling when corresponding, make mathematical calculations accurately;
  • Follow oral and written instructions;
  • Accurately research various information and prepare related reports.

The physical demands described here are representative of those requirements that must be met by a warehouse type position to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee frequently must squat, stoop, or kneel, reach above the head, and reach forward. The employee frequently uses hand strength to grasp tools and rungs of ladders, boxes, etc. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, including cleaning supplies, pails, and bags/boxes. Occasionally the employee will lift or move up to 100 pounds, including bags and furniture. The employee will sometimes push or pull items. This job requires close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
