The Insurance Analyst role will serve as the strategic, logistical, and operational lead for managing the organization's relationships with the Louisiana Patient's Compensation Fund, as well as state Funds, both mandated and voluntary, in overseeing classification and surcharge analysis for all health care providers across the system. This role will also be responsible for the strategic placement and renewal of various insurance coverage lines, including Cyber, Directors & Officers (D&O), Management Liability, and FINPRO. Additionally, this role will act as the technical lead for the internally designed Salesforce platform.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education
  • Required - High School Diploma

Work Experience
  • Required - 7 years of property and casualty insurance and/or legal service experience

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Knowledge of insurance markets, stability, current and best practice trends in risk financing and loss control
  • Ability to determine coverage for provider certificates of insurance with an ever changing and growing insurance portfolio and several certificates being issued every day
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical skills and pro-rata calculations
  • Proficiency in computers, Microsoft platforms, and Salesforce
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to present complex info clearly and professionally
  • Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills with the ability to build efficient processes

Job Duties
  • Lead the strategic and practical classification and surcharge analysis for a broader range of providers (physicians, APPs, and allied health) system wide.
  • Manage additional complex insurance placements and renewals across multiple lines (e.g., Cyber, D&O, Management and FINPRO)
  • Conduct reserve evaluations, actuarial support, and insurance program development in collaboration with brokers and carriers
  • Provide data-driven insights to inform risk strategy and enterprise-wide insurance decisions
  • Collaborates with Legal, Risk, Treasury, Finance and brokers for soundest risk profile across responsible coverage lines
  • Super-user and department owner of insurance platform, Salesforce
  • Responsible for Graduate Medical Education coverage on professional liability for all learners
  • Key stakeholder in annual actuarial evaluation of our Self-Insurance Trust
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
