Skilled Maintenance Technician, 2nd Shift, Facility Services en School District of Clayton

The School District of Clayton is seeking an experienced Skilled Maintenance Technician. Duties include a wide range of building maintenance functions such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and miscellaneous building repairs. This position is 2nd shift.

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Possess basic plumbing and basic electrical skills.
• Make minor repairs to tools, keep tools clean and in good condition for next project.
• Prepare site with proper tools and materials and make sure site is in clean and safe condition when finished.
• Assemble and install a wide variety of apparatus/equipment.
• Transport materials and equipment to job site or arrange for transportation of heavy or bulky items.
• Estimate time and materials for various projects.
• Be proficient with power tools.
• Repair walls; apply tape and mud.
• Install and repair drop ceilings.
• Repair doors, door hardware, locks, hinges, panic hardware, etc.
• Lay floor tile.
• Prepare surfaces for painting including minor repairs, patch plaster and drywall.
• Make tack boards.
• Work independently with minimum supervision.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by Management.

Education Requirements:  Technical School training is a plus.

Certification:  None 

Experience:  Requires a minimum of 5 years job-related experience.  Must pass a physical examination and drug screening (if applicable).  Requires knowledge of building systems, computer systems and technology.

Compensation:  $25.67 - $38.44/hr

Work Calendar:  12 Months, 260 Days
