Responsibilities:
- The General Manager is responsible for the entire operation and management of the Club, ensuring positive member experience, teamwork, and operational excellence.
- The General Manager always ensures excellence in Member Services by creating a welcoming environment.
- Interview, hire, and train new staff.
- Ensures proper staffing and coverage in the club based on business needs.
- Conducts all evaluations and performance reviews for all staff in the club.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and orderly club.
- Ensures club profitability and financial success.
- Ensures the safety and protection of the employees and members in the club and the entire club property.
- Handle timecard administration and properly follow all Planet Fitness policies and guidelines as they pertain to employee pay.
- Train staff on and execute local and national promotions.
Qualifications
Requirements and Skills:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing customer-focused teams in the fitness, hospitality, restaurant or similar industry
- A career path that reflects increasing levels of responsibility and proven success delivering measurable results
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Strong leadership, team building, and coaching skills
- Exceptional customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and planning skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Continual standing and walking during your shift.
- Continual talking to members and potential members in person and on the phone during your shift.
- Must be able to lift 45 pounds.
**Internal candidates only - will receive the GMIT training rate $20-$22/hour until GMIT program is completed.
