Who You’ll Work With
The Information Technology organization is the technological foundation of our business and works in collaboration with our partners from across the company. The team drives technology and digital transformation, partners with business leaders to design and execute new strategies through IT and operations services and ensures the necessary IT risk management and security measures are in place and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and principles.
About The Role
This role will report to the Chief Physical Security Officer and is primarily responsible for the management of the enterprise Global Security Operations Center and leadership of a team that may consist of proprietary and contracted security risk and intelligence personnel. This role supervises protective intelligence collection and analysis, and the detection and active monitoring of potential security threats for the Physical Security department; developing and implementing streamlined processes and procedures to manage crisis events and mitigate security risks across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Lead the daily functions of an internal, customer-facing 24/7 Global Security Operations Center for a global insurance and financial management business to ensure efficient monitoring and response to security incidents.
- Develop processes and procedures to identify, triage, communicate and mitigate security threats that have the potential to impact business operations and employee safety such as civil unrest, security and medical evacuations, criminal activities, active attack situations, high impact security incidents, and geopolitical unrest.
- Build and maintain critical intelligence requirements and processes to collect, analyze and disseminate security intelligence information. Maintain a reporting database and assist in the development of effective situational awareness, emergency management and crisis response capabilities.
- Maintain contracts and relationship with physical security vendors to support crisis response and incident management. Develop and enforce data driven metrics and key performance indicators.
- Supervise staff in generating time-sensitive situation reports and alerts and perform quality assurance and editing of information products.
- Organize, implement, moderate, and document routine exercises and drills designed to test and validate responses for major security incidents with participation from executives and other key business stakeholders.
- Conduct after action reviews to document lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
- Ability to craft and disseminate critical communications to a broad audience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills adaptable to all levels of management
- Positively influence, teach, coach, mentor, and train intelligence and GSOC staff on procedures and applications.
- Expertly utilize physical security technology and critical event management systems to support security operations and proactive threat mitigation.
- Develop and maintain subject matter expertise regarding geopolitical landscape as well as regional and local laws and practices that are applicable to physical security.
Skills and Qualifications
- Self-starter with ability to multi-task against competing priorities. A service-oriented personality, self-motivated, confident, energetic and customer focused individual with the willingness and availability to respond to critical incidents outside of normal business hours during crisis events.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and/or 7+ years of extensive experience in corporate security, emergency management, law enforcement or security intelligence operations (COC/TOC/EOC management).
- Strong corporate security skills and experience, preferably with a multi-national financial services or insurance organization.
- In depth knowledge of threat intelligence and critical event management software, services and applications with demonstrated experience developing and implementing intelligence priority requirements.
- Strong working knowledge of physical security technology such as access control, security video, visitor management and intrusion detection systems.
- Advanced leadership skills with the ability to multitask and maintain professional composure under stressful circumstances.
- Experience in the management of vendor service delivery, developing key performance indicators, enforcing contract compliance, and projecting / managing budgets.
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and refining intelligence and GSOC standard operating procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, including comprehension, speaking and business writing.
- Strong conflict management and people skills with a “mission accomplishment” work ethic.
- Industry certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Physical Security Professional (PSP) are preferred. This role will be expected to obtain and maintain professional and industry certifications.
Work Location
This position is based in Corebridge Financial’s Houston, TX office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
