Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to manage and oversee all Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and general accounting responsibilities. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely payments and collections, and supporting month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and has a strong understanding of accounting principles and processes.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Process vendor invoices accurately and timely
- Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices
- Maintain vendor records and respond to inquiries
- Manage payment runs (check, ACH, wire)
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Generate and send customer invoices
- Apply payments and monitor aging reports
- Follow up on past-due accounts and resolve payment issues
- Work closely with Sales or Customer Service teams to resolve billing disputes
General Accounting:
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
- Maintain the general ledger and supporting schedules
- Assist with audits and provide documentation as needed
- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role
- Strong understanding of AP/AR processes and general accounting
- Proficient in accounting software (RealPage) and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently or in a team
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
