Assistant Director of Adolescent Clinical Services

 

To ensure that each Adolescent client is sufficiently supported by the Skyland Trail program services from the client's entry into their track until discharge. Responsible for well­ planned and coordinated therapeutic services within the client’s track.  In partnership with the Director of Adolescent Clinical Services, VP of Adolescent Clinical Services and Chief Medical Officer, responsible for well-planned and coordinated therapeutic services within the assigned track and supporting other clinical team members

 

 

Duties:

  • Coordinate the clinical components of residential and day treatment programming with direction from the Director of Adolescent Clinical Services        
  • Maintain individual client caseload of up to 5 adolescents. Conduct one-on-one individual sessions at least once per week with assigned caseload.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans (complete with day treatment schedule) for caseload and revise as necessary. 
  • Review clients’ treatment plans, documenting progression towards treatment plan goals and group attendance.  Record all changes in status. Ensure that client needs are being addressed in regard to their treatment goals and improving their independent living skills. 
  • Assist, teach and/or model necessary and appropriate daily living skills to program participants.
  • Complete all documentation in accordance with guidelines.  Refers clients to appropriate services, internally and externally. Maintains contact with other service providers.
  • Conduct Prolonged Exposure assessment and therapy sessions with identified clients. Provide Consultation and support to clinical team as necessary.
  • Provide supervision, coaching and training to clinical team staff on identified modalities.
  • Supervision of the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy recovery teams.
  • Develop a productive environment by encouraging cooperation and collaboration within the team.
  • Assist with hiring and coaching of staff alongside the Director of Adolescent Clinical Services. Assist in cross-training (between adult and adolescent campuses) existing new hire training And training of clinical interns.  
  • Coordination of all group therapy offered, i.e. review of program content, development of written curricula, and evaluation of program effectiveness.  
  • Work in conjunction with Director of Adolescent Clinical Services to complete and review  Performance reviews (90 day and annual). Provide constructive feedback to clinical team Members as needs or concerns arise.
  • Under the direction of the Director of Adolescent Clinical Services, evaluate the residential and Day treatment programs to include group schedule’s effectiveness and institute revisions as Necessary.
  • Oversee residential and day treatment schedule of groups and facilitator assignments. 
  • Participate in facility quality improvement projects, including audits and quality assurance.  Ensure that documentation is completed and within specified parameters.
  • Within CBT and DBT track teams, ensure that client’s individual treatment plan, discharge summary and other documentation are completed within required time frame.
  • Works with track team to design wellness plans. Sets appropriate wellness plans for caseload as needed, and reports plan to the client, family and clinical staff.
  • Support direct reports by helping them learn processes and procedures and prompting actions on items such as financial aid applications. Attend huddles to help support team members with complex situations with clients and engage in additional interventions.
  • In the absence of the Director of Adolescent Clinical Services, assign clients to appropriate caseloads/track communities and transfer/graduate between track teams, as needed.
  • Oversee logistics related to staffing changes, ensuring continuity of care for caseloads. Provides or helps seek coverage for direct reports when unexpectedly out of the office.
  • Assist clinical team members and clients when crisis situations arise, including possible evaluation for involuntary assessment.
  • Participate in on-call rotation, covering on-call responsibilities and back-up on-call responsibilities (evenings/weekends).
  • Participate in meetings (between staff, clients and/or families) when additional leadership or situation management is needed within the meeting.
  • Conduct residential and day treatment groups and document participation in clients' charts as necessary due to coverage and/or new task assignment. 
  • Develop written curricula for groups as needed. Supervise and encourage client participation in the residential and day program services.
  • Attend weekly Treatment Team and Conceptualization meetings to direct, guide, and communicate recovery goals, Wellness Plans, expectations and needs within the treatment team. 
  • Share responsibility for oversight of clinical residential and day services budgets and expenditures, making adequate and timely adjustments as needed. Participate in annual budget process with administration.
  • Integrate innovations in therapeutic treatments into planned services.  Initiate or oversee special projects related to track specific program development.
  • Champion outcomes assessments to ensure continuous quality improvements. Present findings and updates to Advisory Board as needed.
  • Attend biweekly agency-wide supervision to review relevant therapeutic psychoeducation/ interventions, client cases and clinical concerns.
  • Attend supervision with Director of Adolescent Clinical Services for administrative supervision and case consultation.
  • Comply with facility policies and accreditation standards (i.e., Joint Commission, CCI, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Qualifications:              

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in related field (i.e.; Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, etc.) and/ or two (2) + years clinical experience in mental health field.           
  • Full licensure, with the state of Georgia.
  • Prior experience in residential treatment center, partial hospitalization/day treatment setting for chronically mentally ill adolescents.
  • Prior experience in facilitating group therapy
  • Prior Supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Understand the established diagnostic criteria for substance use disorders and describe treatment modalitiesacross continuum of care, preferred.
