Description

SUMMARY

The Product Validation Engineer develops test methods and performs tests to validate product performance and product compliance using standards and regulations. They are also responsible for validating new designs, components, and materials to ensure products meet safety, quality, and durability standards.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Develops test procedures, performs product validation tests and documents results.
  • Recommends, develops and maintains test equipment.
  • Documents and maintains compliance records to meet domestic and international regulations.
  • Researches and understands standards and regulations to advise other internal groups.
  • Identifies changes early in the design process relating to standard compliance, or to recognize deficiencies in existing designs.
  • Collaborates effectively with manufacturing, engineering, and quality departments.
  • Conducts work and validation tests in a safe manner at all times.
  • May travel up to 25% of time.

Qualifications


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with a major in Mechanical, Industrial, Agriculture or Electrical Engineering; and/or combination of education and experience.

 

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read, write and comprehend documents and correspondence. Ability to effectively present technical information to internal and external individuals and groups, regardless of the group’s technical background.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to use and understand equations and calculations  

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient in AutoCAD and 3D parametric modeling (SolidWorks/Inventor), as well as Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Excel and Word.

 

ADDITIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to develop and maintain a test department and record and analyze data. Able to design test methods, develop test fixtures and equipment.
  • Ability to produce accurate, professional and error-free documents in a timely manner.
  • Demonstration of good oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge in FEA, hydraulics, electronics and strength of materials.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and resources to meet the needs and schedules of internal and external customers and respond immediately to questions and problems with solutions.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and hand and power tools.
  • Ability to operate and test Weiler equipment.
