POSITION SUMMARY:

 

As a Director, Client Solutions Partner (Our name for Account Directors - because you provide the solutions!), you will lead a cross-functional team servicing Fortune 500 clients from the world’s leading brands. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing and growing client relationships with key client stakeholders. You will also need to anticipate your clients’ needs, understand what drives their success, challenge them to think differently, and in partnership with Pace’s creative and strategy leads, provide highly valued business insights that help them achieve their goals and objectives.

 

This position will provide strategic direction and operational leadership, serving as the liaison between Pace’s clients and our internal groups (including creative, strategy, and digital), to set expectations on overall program strategy, deliverables, and key performance indicators. In addition, this position will function as a leader within a Pace portfolio, supporting management of P&Ls, revenue projections, monthly billings, and the identification of new opportunities for business growth.

 

Candidates in either New York or New Jersey will be exclusively considered for this role.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Client:

  • Learn the clients’ full business goals and objectives, competitive landscape, target audience and internal dynamics.
  • Push clients intellectually and come up with innovative, unforeseen solutions to their business problems.
  • Work with Pace senior leadership, peers, and client team on creation of an account level marketing/development plan.
  • Identify opportunities for growth within existing client relationships, and present/position new ideas to clients on an ongoing basis to generate additional revenue.
  • Develop a strong POV on the practice of marketing, understand the client’s marketing and brand strategy and draw together Pace’s marketing solutions (talent and technology) whenever possible to meet that need.
  • Be a thought leader, intellectually curious, seeking out insights and information on improving/advancing the client relationship to get the desired results creatively, strategically and financially.
  • Own client briefs and be a strategic adviser to the client, driving against established goals and keeping your team on track.
  • Advocate for great work – always on behalf of clients, on behalf of internal teams and on behalf of Pace.

 

Team Partnerships:

 

  • Drive team collaboration to identify new opportunities for business growth and to solve pertinent issues related to the client/account.
  • Motivate and mentor team members to continually elevate thinking, strive to provide exceptional quality and service of work, mobilizing resources to most effectively meet account requirements.
  • Provide strategic guidance for multi-discipline working teams in the prioritization and execution of client work.
  • Monitor the overall process, note areas for improvement, solutions to implement and plans for executing in a timely, team-friendly manner.
  • With Project Manager, contribute to the development of project timeline and manage the client budget, proactively reporting on forecast and spend.
  • Participate in new business generation as requested.

 

Financial and Administrative:

 

  • Manage profit and loss responsibility for assigned clients as well as financial forecasting.
  • Ensure delivery of financial goals, appropriately resourcing against projects, providing accurate financial projections and identifying opportunities for organic program growth.
  • Be aware of competition and market factors that can disrupt our agency-client relationship or potentially harm financial performance.
  • Monitor industry trends to anticipate client needs.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education:  

 

BA in Marketing, Communications or other related field - relevant advanced degree is a bonus.

 

Experience: 

 

Minimum 10 years of experience in account services field within the marketing agency world.

 

Skills:

 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a highly collaborative environment to develop and execute digital marketing and content strategies for clients
  • Large budget management experience (minimum of $1 million)
  • A proven history of strategic account planning and management, growing key accounts
  • Strategic thinking and ability to see the big picture
  • Ability to model strong leadership skills; empowering others to be their best
  • Creative problem solving
  • Strong strategic, analytical skills and effective problem-solving skills
  • Passionate self-starter
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Demonstrated budget management experience for client projects, including prior experience developing fees and budget allocation models

  • Strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills
  • The ability to travel occasionally to attend in-person client meetings

 

Additional Nice-to-Haves:

  • Fluency in media and paid PR planning, buying, and reporting - including sponsored content, paid placements, amplified earned stories, and content syndication and influencer marketing - to ensure strategies are executed effectively and efficiently across multiple vendors.
  • A history of collaboration with media buying partners, creative, analytics, and strategy teams to manage budgets, contracts, and campaign timelines that align with client objectives and deliver cohesive paid media outcomes.

  • The salary for this position will range from $100,000-$130,000 in NYC and surrounding areas, depending on experience, education, geographical location, and other factors.
