About the role


Join our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team as a HV Cable Jointer on the Hinkley Point C Project.


About Hinkley Point C


The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.


Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year.


What you'll be doing


To deliver the works required to enable satisfactory completion
of the HV system.
To provide expertise and support to the wider project to ensure the HV system and network can be energised and commissioned both satisfactorily, and safely.
Provision of HV Cable Terminations
Provision of HV Cable Jointing
Support to HV Testing
Provision of Remedial Works


Who we're looking for


Technical Training as a HV Cable Jointer* and / or Industrial
Electrician (If Electrician, proof of Upskilling shall be required
Experience terminating up to 11kV cables
Experience / Training with Nexans Cables & Accessories
Experience with Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) Type Cable
Ability to gain a security clearance
