Pay Rate: $18.73/hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shifts
Overtime: ESA (Overtime after 44 hours/week)

About the Role

As a Security Patrol, you’ll be an essential member of the hospital’s safety team — conducting patrols, responding to emergencies, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This role demands vigilance, strong communication, and a calm, empathetic approach to managing stressful or sensitive situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of hospital premises, including entrances, hallways, and parking areas.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems; promptly report suspicious activity.
• Control access to restricted areas and ensure only authorized personnel are admitted.
• Respond to emergencies such as fire alarms, medical incidents, or security threats.
• De-escalate tense or emotional situations calmly and professionally.
• Assist hospital staff during crises, evacuations, or patient transport.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and daily activity logs.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders when required.
• Maintain compliance with all hospital policies and procedures.
• Promote a welcoming, respectful, and safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.

Requirements

Must-Have Criteria

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C (WSIB approved) certification
• Two doses of COVID-19 vaccine
• Proof of up-to-date immunization records (MMR, Varicella, TB test)
• Must pass Vulnerable Sector Check
• Fluent in English (oral and written)
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field
• Willingness to complete N95 Mask Fit Testing during training
• Ability to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB) — training available if not yet completed
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

Nice-to-Have (Optional)

• Education in Police Foundations, Law Enforcement, or related programs
