Job Summary

The Information Technology Director will be responsible for directing, coordinating and overseeing the Information Technology (IT) and Security systems and activities of the bank. This position will coordinate the development, implementation and operation of automated systems, including Information Technology and Technical Support. 

 

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring that the bank’s business strategy is optimal, given current and emerging digital realities, opportunities, and threats 
  • Optimizing technology across the entire bank, inclusive of infrastructure and IT operations and data management.
  • Working with teams and crosslines of business to generate innovative, efficient technology solutions for products, services, processes, customer experiences, etc.
  • Leading the culture of service within all technology operations, delivering an employee technology operating experience that is secure, progressive, and in alignment with business needs.
  • Bringing a current knowledge of and future vision for leveraging data and technology in business model and design.
  • Developing the roadmap for the bank’s technology infrastructure and security profile in alignment with regulatory requirements and enterprise risk management guidelines.
  • Being a trusted advisor helping to ensure all executive leaders can make confident decisions about the application of information, data and technology within their units and across the enterprise.
  • Ensuring that the enterprise is developing the digital assets, talent and capabilities that will be needed to survive and thrive in the long term.
  • Where appropriate, holding P&L or project ROI accountability for digital initiatives undertaken by the bank.
  • Ensuring IT capabilities are delivered reliably, sustainably, cost effectively and securely.
  • Ensuring the IT contributions are delivered with agility based on changing business objectives, goals and strategies.
  • Providing strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of IT systems and programs that fulfill the needs of the business, including enterprise architecture management, security and risk management, and infrastructure and operations support management.
  • Ensuring all relevant digital initiatives are fully integrated into the strategic planning process for resource allocation and execution.
  • Developing and controlling annual operations and capital expenditure budgets for IT to ensure the investment in technologies is consistent with the enterprise’s overall strategic objectives and is within plan.
  • Bringing together customer mindset and technology focused resources for elevated customer experiences.
  • Enhancing IT capabilities by leveraging a multitude of resources, both internally and externally. Directs the development of the IT sourcing strategy.
  • Serving on enterprise planning and policy making committees.
  • Driving the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure IT delivers value to the enterprise.
  • Managing risk through the effective design, delivery and management of Information, data and technology capabilities for the enterprise.
  • Providing leadership, coaching and direction to the IT team.
  • Working to attract, retain and develop top IT talent to build IT capabilities across the company.

Working Conditions

Working Conditions

Indoors, environmentally controlled; usual office working conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typical of most office environments with telephones, personal interruptions, and background noises. Position may require working outside to oversee cabling infrastructure, working in construction areas during new building projects or in confines spaces, and occasional travel which may involve outdoor, uncontrolled environmental conditions, including rain, sleet, ice, snow, extreme heat or cold temperatures.
