OVERVIEW AND ROLE SCOPE OFTEAM AND/OR TASKS
The Professional Staff Assistant to theDepartment of Information Technology provides administrative and operationalsupport to the VP for Information Technology, IT Directors, and professionalstaff in the department. The role requires strong communication and organizationalskills, professionalism, discretion, and the ability to manage multiplepriorities.

CAPACITYREQUIREMENTS
• Provide administrative support to Vice President for Information Technology and the Department of Information Technology, including receptionist duties.
• Assist with greeting students, faculty, staff and guests, answering phones, and directing visitors to proper Information Technology and general support offices. 
• Prepare and track purchase requisitions, invoices, travel authorizations, One Card expenses, and other university forms and business processes in online applications.
• Assist with monitoring Information Technology budgets, expenditures, and contract renewals.
• Draft correspondence in email, proofread documents and correspondence, and create PowerPoint slides for presentations.
• Maintain the Information Technology website using the University’s content management system.
• Schedule appointments, meetings and rooms for the Vice President for Information Technology and department functions.
• Order and maintain supplies for the Information Technology Department.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Information Technology and IT Directors.
• Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIALEXPERIENCE FOR RIGHT FIT
• Bachelor’s degree from a regionallyaccredited four-year college or university or equivalent years of officesupport experience in a professional staff assistant role or similar jobresponsibilities.
• Demonstratedexperience working with the public and internal users related to customerservice.
• Ability to work in an environment with constant interruptions.
• Experiencemonitoring budgets, creating purchase requests, and tracking invoices in asimilar setting is preferred.
• Ability and desire to learn new office productivity software orbusiness applications is preferred.
