Five Star Equipment, your authorized John Deere Construction & Forestry Dealer, is seeking a highly skilled Cummins-Certified Service Technician to join our growing team and new business segment, Warhorse Rentals, powerhouse team in Dunmore, PA.

The ideal candidate will possess Cummins engine diagnostic and repair certifications, with proven experience servicing heavy equipment and off-highway machinery. This role supports Cummins-powered machines through warranty repairs, troubleshooting, and full-service diagnostics in compliance with Cummins dealer certification standards.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You’ll take the lead on maintaining and repairing Cummins-powered equipment—from compact engines to high-horsepower machines—ensuring reliability and uptime for our customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform Lite, Repair, or Full-Service level Cummins-certified diagnostics and repairs on engines such as QSF3.8, QSB4.5, QSB6.7, QSL9, and QSG12.
  • Troubleshoot and repair fuel, electrical, and control systems, including EGR, turbo, sensors, ECMs, and harnesses.
  • Utilize Cummins INSITE and QuickServe Online for advanced diagnostics and calibrations.
  • Execute warranty administration with precision, maintaining full compliance with Cummins Dealer standards.
  • Collaborate with Cummins reps and internal service managers to maintain best-in-class quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay current with Cummins Virtual College training and required tooling certifications.
  • Support field service calls and mentor junior techs when needed.

WHAT YOU BRING


WHAT YOU BRING

  • Cummins training completion for at least one engine platform (QSF3.8–QSG12).
  • Proficiency with INSITE, INLINE 7, and Guidanz/QuickServe systems.
  • Working knowledge of Cummins Warranty Administration.
  • 3+ years of diesel technician experience (off-highway preferred).
  • Ability to read schematics, perform precision diagnostics, and follow strict safety standards.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).

BONUS POINTS

  • Cummins Certified Dealer Technician (Lite, Repair, or Full-Service level).
  • ASE Diesel Certification or OEM-specific training (Deere, Cat, Komatsu, Doosan, etc.)
  • OEM product-specific training (Deere, Cat, Komatsu, Doosan, etc.) a plus.
