Northeast Residential Services is pleased to announce we are currently accepting applications for the position of Director of Residentials Services. Our mission is to maximize the quality of life for individuals with intellectual disabilities and we are looking for an enthusiastic leader who is passionate to help us achieve our goals. The Director of Residential Services is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of all NRS residential and shared living programs and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer. The Director of Residential Services oversees Area Directors and works collaboratively with the NRS leadership and executive management team.

 

This is a salaried, full-time position, requiring weekend and evening hours pending the needs of NRS clients and staff. This position requires travel to the various locations that NRS provides services to.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee NRS’ residential and shared living operations for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities
  • Ensure all NRS residential and shared living programs meet state of Maine, federal, and Division of Licensing requirements and regulations
  • Responsible for the authorization process of approved hours in Acentra Health (Atrezzo), Evergreen, and the MaineCare Services Portal
  • Create actionable plans for the implementation of services including building and cultivating collaborative manager and staff teams
  • Responsible for managing and building census through the acquisition of new people served
  • Oversee the maintenance and care of NRS’ residential facilities and program vehicles
  • Oversee nurse/nurse consultant assignments in residential programs
  • In collaboration with the Director of Training, ensure staff and contractors comply with state and agency mandated training requirements
  • Utilize Paycom to manage timecards, schedules, PTO, expenses, and meet payroll deadlines
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility with oversite of program expenses and staffing costs
  • Oversee the behavior management plan approval process
  • Collaborate with human resources to formulate successful recruitment strategies and to ensure a high-quality onboarding experience for new hires
  • Collaborate with the quality and human resources department to ensure required documentation meets state and NRS quality standards
  • Promote community integration and inclusion including leading and creating agency events
  • Lead NRS’ after hours on call system to ensure crisis and emergency needs are met timely on a 24/7 basis

Skills & Competencies

  • Intimate knowledge of Maine waivers for adults with developmental disabilities including the Lifespan Waiver and HCBS requirements
  • Proficiency in residential care facility licensing regulations and operations, including shared living
  • Proven ability to develop and lead teams resulting in the growth of new services
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort with data tracking systems, incident management, and quality assurance
  • Experience with relevant software systems preferred (Therap, Evergreen, Acentra, MaineCare Health PAS Online Portal, Paycom)
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed and be part of the on-call rotation

 

Required Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in residential service management in the human services field
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
