About the Department
The Recreation Program Supervisor – Youth Programs is responsible for implementing and supervising recreation services with a general emphasis on youth programs. This position will manage, organize, lead, and facilitate tasks and duties associated with the youth and adult recreational programs to ensure the recreation needs of residents are being met with high quality programs, events, and services that promote community wellness.
Position Duties

- Develop and implement all logistical details for youth recreational programs, adult wellness programs and trips, and family community events.
- Provide effective communication to staff, colleagues, contractors, instructors, parents/guardians, participants, vendors, professional groups, and the community.
- Supervise, train and evaluate seasonal employees and event staff.
- Manage and be an active liaison to contractual staff, independent instructors, and the community groups.
- Establish and execute annual staff recruitment strategies.
- Prepares and manages annual budgets for areas under the direction of the divisional Superintendent.
- Contribute to departmental social media accounts, create, and distribute marketing materials for programs and events.
- Evaluate programs and events to ensure department and community goals and standards are met and modify, as necessary.
- Assist other divisions and employees, as necessary.
- Continually show respect for diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and interests. Exhibit sensitivity to the needs of diverse audiences in all duties performed on behalf of the City to support Roseville in building and sustaining an inclusive and equitable working environment and community.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in program and event development in private or municipal setting.
- Detailed, ability to think critically, identify problems, provide solutions, contribute positively, mentor, lead and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional time management and communication skills.

Most work is in a normal office environment with some outdoor work included. May include some evenings and weekends for program management or scheduled events. Work is performed at a high level of detail or pressure of deadlines with light physical effort. Approximately 15% lifting sixty (60) pounds.
