Summary:

The Kogod School of Business, recognized as a leader in sustainability, is accelerating its impact through a new strategic initiative. We are seeking a motivated Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) to support research, analysis, and communication activities that advance Kogod’s sustainability mission. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects in a collaborative academic environment focused on sustainability and social impact.

Essential Functions:

• Analyze sustainability-related data to inform decision-making and engagement strategies.

• Create communication materials, including reports, briefs, and presentations, tailored for diverse audiences.

• Collaborate on team-based research projects, often with tight deadlines and evolving priorities.

• Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings to support strategic initiatives and academic publications.

• Assist with stakeholder engagement and project coordination as directed by faculty supervisors.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• Part-time.

• Student.

• 5 -10 hours per week (flexibility to accommodate academic schedules).

Salary Range:

• $18.50 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

• Current enrollment in a graduate degree program at American University.

• Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

• Ability to meet deadlines independently while maintaining high-quality work.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Experience designing infographics and visual materials to communicate data effectively.

• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in stakeholder engagement.

• Familiarity with sustainability metrics, frameworks, or reporting tools preferred.
