General Summary
The incumbent will spend approximately six to eight months in Sunrock’s Career Development training program that will cover the following functional areas: Safety, Quality Control, Sales, Aggregate Operations, Concrete Operations, Asphalt Operations, Dispatch Operations, Paving & Grading Operations and people leadership. The exposure to and an understanding of these areas will be critical to an individual’s success in the career development program. The operation specific training will be conducted over a designated timeframe and consists of the incumbent working alongside a designated trainer throughout Sunrock's various operations. While in the program work may be independent of others but the incumbent operates within division or departmental policy guidelines, using independent judgment to achieve assigned objectives. This position requires flexibility in schedule which will vary based on the training path. In addition, good judgment and common sense is required in all duties and any other tasks. Early starts and late evenings are common during peak season (March-October). The incumbent must practice absolute confidentiality to implement high levels of trust and integrity among the team. - Complies with all safety policies, procedures and established safe practices. Reports all unsafe conditions and actions to a supervisor and/or Manager Safety and Health.
- Train and perform assigned tasks within the framework of program rotation.
- Complete assignment objectives on schedule, with expected quality while maintaining accuracy and thoroughness.
- Demonstrate ability to understand and apply outdoor manufacturing fundamentals in the business environment.
- Demonstrate analytical / problem solving skills.
- The Rotational assignments are intended to provide a broad exposure within Sunrock’s divisions leading to successful off program placement.
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Self- starter, must have good judgement and flexibility.
- Ability to workout outdoors.
- Ability to obtain industry specific certifications.
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
- Acquired a Bachelor’s degree or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, and make decisions with variables.
- Ability to set goals and motivate a team towards achieving those goals.
- Ability to recognize strengths and passions in others.
- Desire to develop people of all skill levels.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Ability to foster and maintain relationships; Customer service oriented.

Physical Demands
The physical activity will be heavy while performing strenuous daily activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
Working Conditions
The working environment will vary based on the indoor and outdoor production/construction environment. The individual will be exposed to outdoor changing weather conditions. (i.e., rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.) The individual will be exposed to different types of hazards at a moderate level while walking around customer’s jobsites. The individual will regularly be on customer jobsites or in other field environments and exposed to outdoor changing conditions. The noise level in the work environment of this job is loud.
