Great Lakes Wine and Spirits is a growing statewide company seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager to work the Night Shift at our depot in Grand Rapids.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Warehouse Operations Manager leads production and operational performances while delegating daily assignments and taking into account volume, call-offs, and employee training needs. Other duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing training, performance, coaching and development of al direct reports.

  • Coordinate activities with assistant managers to hit all assigned goals.

  • Maintain high working knowledge of all production related jobs, tasks, responsibilities, and procedures to current standards.

  • Maintain adequate working knowledge and adherence to our local union agreement.

  • Execute on all required administrative tasks.

  • Oversee the placement of workers and supervision to ensure all production needs are addressed.
  • Follow safety, security guidelines as communicated, pertaining but not limited to: cleanliness, PPE compliance, biomechanical techniques, potential hazards, MHE certs, suspicious activity and theft.
  • Audit work area drops zones to ensure product is physically and electronically handled correctly.

  • Survey assigned work area(s) daily to identify & correct issues that aren't in line with shift/company goals regularly throughout the shift.

  • Ensure shift compliance to all applicable regulatory, company, HR, inventory, safety, and operational guidelines, policies and procedures.

 

This position will also be responsible for maintaining logs pertinent to payroll and employee information as needed. Other duties include but are not limited to:

  • Verifying punches, approving overtime, and recording leave via daily / weekly inputs

  • Oversee hiring, reprimanding, and discharging for direct reports.

  • Submit injury, disciplinary and any other assigned forms in a timely manner following company standards and protocols.

 

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

The Warehouse Operations Manager will be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations where noise levels can be loud. This position also requires to be very active and may frequently be standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing throughout the day. Items will weigh up to 50 pounds that will require frequent lifting, stacking, moving and rotating without handles and pushing/pulling carts with up to 100 pounds of force.

 

Work Schedule

This position is expected to work 10 hours each shift Sunday through Thursday with in-times varying around 5:00 PM.  Occasional Fridays will be required based on holiday schedules and business needs.

 

Pay & Benefits

  • Between $65,000 and $71,000 per year based on experience
  • Potential quarterly bonuses up to 2.5% of annual salary ($1,625 - $1,775 per quarter).

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 consecutive years of warehouse management or leadership experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Warehouse Managment Systems (WMS) experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience sorting and picking or production in a warehouse distribution center (food and beverage industry preferred).
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to be active and on your feet for an entire shift.

  • Adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the employee policy manual and any applicable contracts, signed agreements, and work rules.
  • Cooperates with all management and staff of GLWAS.
  • Follows all MLCC rules and regulations, as they apply to the position.
  • Use alcohol in a responsible manner when related to business activities.
  • Ability to pass a full Background Check including Criminal Record, 10-Panel Drug Test, Physical Evaluation, and Agility Test.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
