We seek a highly experienced Capital Project Engineer to lead and manage large-scale capital expenditure (CapEx) projects within our aluminum extrusion operations. The ideal candidate will bring advanced engineering expertise, strategic project management skills, and a proven ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Capital Project Planning: Develop and execute detailed plans for major capital projects, including scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables aligned with organizational objectives.
- Budget and Cost Control: Prepare and manage multi-million-dollar CapEx budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality.
- Engineering Oversight: Provide technical leadership and ensure engineering standards are met throughout project design, procurement, and implementation phases.
- Vendor and Contractor Management: Oversee selection, negotiation, and performance of external vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks in capital projects and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard project success.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, finance, and leadership teams to ensure seamless integration of new assets and technologies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
- Performance Reporting: Deliver regular updates on project progress, budget status, and key performance indicators to senior management.
What You'll Need to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 7+ years of engineering experience with a focus on capital projects and project management.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale CapEx projects in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Deep understanding of engineering principles, equipment installation, and process optimization.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
