Job Description:                       Technician (Technical Services Group)

 

Position Summary

 

Air Power, Inc. is seeking an experienced full-time Technician.  Work with our internal Team to understand scope of project.  Work with Specialists and Engineering to validate BOM for accuracy and equipment concepts. This position’s primary function is to pre-assemble and test projects to ensure they are ready for installation across all our business units.   Travel to customer sites to install equipment and work diligently to maintain established timeline.

 

Key Accountabilities:


  • Install and Configure Equipment: Set up and install industrial systems including Fluid Transfer systems, Liquid Coating systems, Powder Coating systems, Curing equipment, Material Handling equipment, Overhead Rail Systems and Robotics.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials used in coating and curing processes, and ensure installations meet OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Provide progress updates of installation during process and lessons learned meetings
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of reported work hours, expenses and inventory levels.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other technicians to coordinate installations and ensure project timelines are met.
  • Training and Support: Provide training to clients or end-users on the operation and basic maintenance of installed equipment.

 

Qualifications:


  • Preferred 2-3 years of experience in installing, maintaining, or repairing industrial equipment, preferably with exposure to fluid transfer, material handling, or coating systems.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems related to fluid transfer, and coating equipment.
  • Experience with tools and equipment used in industrial installations (e.g., hammer drill, band saw, angle grinder, reciprocating saw, drill/driver, scissor lift, forklift, ladders and scaffolding).

 

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 100 lbs., work at heights, and operate in confined spaces. Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication. Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to client sites as needed, including potential overnight stays.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in industrial settings, including manufacturing plants, warehouses, and production facilities.
  • Exposure to loud noises, chemicals (e.g., liquid and powder coatings), and high temperatures (e.g., curing ovens).
