Job Purpose:

Our Sales Representatives will be responsible for lead generation, new business development, maintaining customer relationships, providing specific solutions, and meeting Veritiv's sales targets. This position requires a competitive and motivated spirit with the drive to solve problems.

Job Responsibilities:

● Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and field visits.
● Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients through regular on-site meetings, product updates, and service follow-ups.
● Provide accurate sales forecasts, reports, and market intelligence to sales management.
● Collaborate with engineering, production, and customer service teams to develop customized solutions and ensure delivery expectations are met.
● Understand technical aspects of the company's manufacturing products and communicate value to customers.
● Attend industry trade shows, networking events, and customer trainings as needed.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Responsibilities:

  • Increase revenue and profitability through the generation of new business and further development of existing accounts.
  • Develop sales plans to grow sales and profitability within accounts.
  • Generate new leads by networking, cold calling, and researching various directories and internet sites.
  • Understand complex requirements from customers for preparation of customized quoting.
  • Negotiate pricing and value-added services based on quoting configurations.
  • Make manufacturing decisions on their orders as it relates to scheduling, shipping, and design.
  • Prepare periodic reports for management, identifying successful sales activities, sales trends, special account information or issues and any follow-up action required.
  • Track market trends and develop competitive insights to be shared among the business unit.
  • Manage orders to ensure items are processed and delivered in a timely manner, quality of products, invoices are paid within the payment terms, and the overall satisfaction of the customer.


Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in outside, corrugated packaging sales, with a demonstrated ability to build and retain a book of customers
  • High School Diploma/GED Preferred
  • Knowledge of corrugated packaging, box styles, board combinations, etc.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing, design, scheduling, and technical aspects of packaging
  • Ability to create and maintain strong relations with customers
  • Ability to multi-task without compromising accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer and organizational skills; ability to use and create customer presentations
  • Excellent communication skills; internal and external
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • The anticipated salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $150,000+ per year to start plus proportional commissions during the learning and ramp up period.

Work Experience:

● 5-10 years of related job experience.

Education:

● Associate/Bachelor's Degree Preferred - Business Administration/Management

Physical Requirements:

· A significant portion of the job responsibilities will require computer work that involves the continuous use of the fingers, hands, wrists, and sitting for long periods of time. The position also requires frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.

· The position requires work in an office as well as travel to customers, suppliers, group meetings, etc.
