General Job Description:
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is an entry-level role responsible for generating new business opportunities and qualifying leads to support the sales team in driving revenue growth. This role involves prospecting and identifying potential customers through various channels such as cold calling and email outreach. The position focuses on converting leads into users of the platform, through effective sales demonstrations that highlight the benefits of the platform, while also determining if the lead would be a fit for a paid subscription.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate new business opportunities by prospecting and qualifying leads through cold calling, email outreach, social media, and other channels.
- Identify and target potential customers, researching and gathering key information to personalize outreach and improve engagement.
- Engage with prospects to educate them on the company’s products and services, answering basic product questions and addressing objections.
- Qualify leads by assessing their needs, budget, and buying intent to ensure they align with the company’s offerings.
- Conduct effective sales presentations that communicate the value of the MyCarrierTMS platform while addressing the customer’s needs and concerns.
- Schedule handoff meetings with Account Executives for qualified accounts.
- Maintain a well-organized pipeline within the CRM system, ensuring timely follow-ups and accurate records of interactions to ensure a smooth handoff.
- Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and industry trends to ensure effective communication with prospects.
- Monitor and respond to customer communication received via email, phone, or voicemail in accordance with department SLAs, and follow up as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in sales development, lead generation, or a similar role.
- Experience with CRM software and familiarity with sales research tools a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with prospects
- Proven ability to prospect, cold call, and qualify leads within a B2B Sales environment.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced sales environment.
- Proficient with computers and the Microsoft Suite of Products.
- Foundational understanding of sales cycles and sales process best practices.
- Foundational knowledge of the logistics industry is a plus.
