Inside the Role
Treasury US & Canada manages all Treasury activity in the US via Daimler Truck Finance North America and Canada via Daimler Truck Finance Canada Inc. Treasury accesses the capital markets including commercial paper, ABS, EMTN and private placement in both the US and Canada markets. It maintains in each country an in-house cash pool and manages risk through foreign exchange and interest rate risk management products.Treasury Operations is responsible for the administration of all treasury contracts; Works with relationship banks to setup cash management products and services as well enhance existing processes to best accommodate Daimler entity needs. A strong relationship with Cash Management banks is essential in order to structure and optimize the overall bank account structure and ensure the proper execution of all payments. Efficiently gather bank information to identify current cash management trends and future needs. Work with global team to implement payment automation processes. In addition to daily operations, the main tasks are the monitoring, controlling, maintenance and development of processes to ensure the highest possible level of quality and customer satisfaction in all cash management related functions especially relating to payments.

Position offers a starting salary range of $86,000.00 - $110,000.00 USD

What You Drive at DTNA
Confirmations & Settlements:
- Oversee and ensure the accurate administration of all treasury contracts, guaranteeing adherence to standards and audit requirements.
- Supervise and coordinate the confirmation, settlement, and management of financial transactions for NAFTA Treasury entities.
- Guarantee prompt and accurate execution of treasury payments, upholding process integrity and quality assurance.
- Strictly comply with treasury and regulatory guidelines, including enforcing the "four-eye" principle and segregation of duties.
- Facilitate invoice payment processing in collaboration with the accounting department.
Entity Data Management:
- Supervise the administration of authorizations pertaining to signing, trading, and other related activities. Act as the Center of Competence for financial operations within the NAFTA group entities. Oversee the management of counterparty data, Standing Settlement Instructions (SSI), and banking authorizations, including the List of Authorized Signatures.
- Facilitate correspondence with banking institutions regarding the initiation, cessation, and general administration of all NAFTA bank accounts. Manage account responsibilities for selected Daimler group entities, ensuring comprehensive global transparency in Daimler's bank account management.
- Direct the administration of external online banking and payment systems within the NAFTA region, ensuring compliance with internal and external audit standards. Oversee online banking platforms, maintaining proper segregation of duties and adherence to stringent security protocols in the setup and administration of user rights.
- Evaluate and execute entity requests to add, remove, or modify banking services, providing expert consultation and administration of services such as debit blocks.
Cash management:
- Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of the various existing payment processes, including the ongoing optimization of the firm's cash and bank account infrastructure.
- Proactively identify and escalate potential project issues in a timely manner to ensure their effective resolution.
- Oversee the coordination and testing of payment files and connections between entities and financial institutions.
- Spearhead the development of robust cash management methodologies and processes, and implement innovative banking technologies, products, and services to enhance and streamline operations.
- Resolve banking issues by facilitating communication between banks, accounting, and other internal departments, and conduct fee analysis against industry benchmarks or bank proposals.
- Contribute as project manager when required.
ICS – Internal Control System:
- ICS applies internal controls to identify and address potential weaknesses early, reducing risks. The Treasury Operations Specialist's duties involve auditing, monitoring transactions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing risks related to bank accounts and authorized signatories. Additionally, the specialist maintains accurate transaction records in the treasury system, prepares financial reports, and collaborates with other departments to resolve discrepancies.
Other Treasury Operations and Cash Management Activities:
- Support cash flow forecasting and liquidity management when the specialist is on leave or time-off
- Support in managing and coordinating guarantees, including Letters of Credit, surety bonds, and Corporate Guarantees. Prepare reports, process fee payments, and accurately record contingent liabilities.
- Oversee logistics for executive meetings, including venue booking, catering services, and material preparation.
- Provide strategic administrative support to project leaders, including managing high-priority correspondence and organizing critical documents.
- Compile and disseminate precise and impactful project communications.
- Maintain meticulously updated project documentation and databases.
- Organize and chair meetings, document minutes with precision, and monitor action items diligently.
- Draft and proofread high-level professional project communications with utmost accuracy.
Knowledge You Should Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5-7 years of relevant work experience in Business, Finance, Treasury and/ or Risk Management, is required.
- A background in banking or finance background.
- Treasury Experience with knowledge of fundamental business practices and concepts that impact the success and profitability of the organization.
- Knowledge of fundamental business practices, concepts and techniques to protect and preserve assets and/or minimize/control loss, such as avoidance, loss prevention and reduction, retention, grouping of exposure units, and transfer.
- Ability to be adaptability and work closest to the priority at hand.
- Innovation, continuous improvement and problem solving mindset.
- Strong skillset to plan and organize and openly communicate projects and workload succinctly.
- Must be able to work flexible hours/work schedule including occasional weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 10 percent

Exceptional Candidates Might Have
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance or Business Administration, International Relations, Business Mathematics, Statistics or MBA preferred
- Preferred work experience across multiple treasury areas including: cash flow monitoring and reporting (e.g. daily cash requirements, cash receipts and payments, financial obligations, debt covenants, interest charges and earnings, etc.), hedging for interest rate, currency and commodity risk, determining counter-party risk, etc., corporate finance structure and funding (e.g. banks and other financial institutions, ratings agencies, regulatory agencies, etc.)
- Should include knowledge of fidelity, surety, liability, property, and group related policies and coverages (preferred).
- Proficient Knowledge and understanding of the implications of key financial indicators and controls and assessing impact of financial information (preferred)
