NANA Healthcare Management is seeking an Accountant 1 to assist the Senior Financial Accountant in maintaining day to day financial operation by ensuring accuracy of data, integrity of financial reporting, and compliance with regulations in an organized manner.
Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm
Pay: Base rate of $24 hourly
Type: Full-time
Knowledge and Training:
- Ability to independently organize, prioritize, and complete tasks within established time constraints.
- Ability to identify problems, troubleshoot and recommend corrective actions.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of a job.
- Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which are related to work as a member of an addiction treatment team.
- Preferred, but not required
- Understanding of the operational and financial structure of addiction and mental health treatment facilities, particularly from an accounting or financial management perspective.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment of alcoholism and/or drug addiction, including Patient Rights, Professional Code of Ethics, and Discrimination.
- Transaction Management
- Support the accurate entry of financial transactions into the accounting system.
- Engage directly with vendors for transaction verification and relationship management.
- Support reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Financial Operations
- Support accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, client credit card payments, and reconciliation review.
- Supports Senior Finance Accountant in closing activities for month-end and year-end.
- Financial Communication and Reporting
- Identify and report accounting discrepancies, unusual transactions, and financial variances to the Senior Finance Accountant, ensuring the integrity in financial reporting.
- Perform other duties as required, including general accounting responsibilities, such as:
- Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial operations
- Review and verify invoices and administer checks and ACH
- Completed other special projects as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, and/or Accounting, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a finance setting
- Attention to detail & critical thinking skills
- Excel and QuickBooks Desktop proficiency
