 💼 Full-Time, Salaried | Monday–Thursday 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Fridays as needed

Loadmaster is a family-owned manufacturer based in Norway, Michigan, producing heavy-duty equipment trusted by communities nationwide. Loadmaster builds refuse truck bodies that keep America running, because garbage never stops! As demand continues to grow, we’re looking for a hands-on Assistant Plant Manager to help lead our people, production, and performance, to the next level.

Position Overview

The Assistant Plant Manager supports the Plant Manager in overseeing all daily manufacturing operations, including welding, fabrication, paint, and assembly. This role is responsible for supervising department leads, maintaining production efficiency and quality, and ensuring safety and teamwork on the shop floor.

This is a leadership position for someone who is confident in managing people, solving problems, and keeping production moving in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Plant Manager with overall plant operations and daily production goals
  • Supervise, coach, and support production leads and their teams
  • Monitor workflow, efficiency, and safety performance across departments
  • Help coordinate schedules, staffing levels, and shift priorities
  • Troubleshoot production issues and collaborate with Quality Control and Engineering
  • Enforce safety, quality, and continuous improvement standards
  • Step in as acting Plant Manager when needed

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience (manufacturing or production leadership preferred)
  • Proven ability to lead teams, communicate clearly, and build respect on the floor
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Experience with production scheduling, workflow management, or process improvement a plus
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork, and doing the job right
