A part-time trailer mechanic inspects, maintains, and repairs various types of trailers, focusing on mechanical, electrical, and suspension systems to ensure safety and roadworthiness.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing issues, performing preventive maintenance
- Tire mounting and complete tire change outs
- Executing repairs on components such as chassis, electrical wiring, and hydraulic systems.
- Record all work on designated Work logs and Work Orders.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday
12:00am-4:30am
Requirements:
- Mechanical Knowledge: Knowledge of trailer systems, including brakes, suspension, electrical, and hydraulics.
- Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose issues and determine whether to repair or replace faulty parts.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with mechanical tools, diagnostic equipment, and potentially welding and cutting torches.
- Safety Focus: Strong understanding and adherence to safety protocols.
- Physical Requirements: Excellent physical dexterity and stamina.
- Documentation: Ability to complete reports and documentation accurately.
- Candidates must be 18 years of age or older
- High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) or High School equivalency exam
- Basic math skills
