Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our finance team working within the Finance Transformation team. The successful candidate will lead the redesign and simplification of the intercompany process and reconciliation within the Close and Reporting process pillar. The new process will adhere to transfer pricing and any other tax related or reporting requirements, to ensure it is fit for purpose as part of Compass. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial control and reporting, with specific experience of intercompany processes in large, global, listed groups like TP ICAP and working collaboratively with colleagues. This role is critical in ensuring the achievement of the Finance Target Operating Model and reducing the close time to by half.
This role is a Fixed Term Contract role for 18 months.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and project manage the Intercompany Simplification project for all intercompany entries across the group, which broadly fall into the following groupings
Intercompany loans/financing
Treasury cash pooling
Intragroup cost and income recharging, support by legal agreements in some cases and established practice in others.
Include working closely with SMEs across Treasury, Tax and Finance and the Compass Entity rationalisation project
Standardise and document the rules for intercompany transactions. Implement the rules across the group to ensure consistency of reporting, improve liquidity management and minimise foreign exchange exposures. This will include:
Re-engineer prospective recharges and other intra-group transaction processes across the group within 12 months
Eliminate/settle/distribute legacy outstanding group relationships, facilitating the elimination of redundant holding companies
Create and maintain a regional “Hub and Spoke” model of intercompany balances, simplifying and standardising the Group’s internal funding structure
Resolution and elimination of any remaining legacy balances
Managing the impact of the rationalisation of legal entities
Run workshops/meetings to socialise proposed changes to take the impact Finance teams on the journey, identify any potential issues and manage any concerns
Reduce manual intervention and embed appropriate financial controls to strengthen risk management and compliance
Prepare and manage an achievable plan for the simplification implementation as part of the overall Financial Control and Operations plan
Contribute to the project governance including identifying and documenting risks and issues, preparing project updates and assisting with any ad hoc reporting and presentations as required
Establish revised dashboards/reports to enable performance monitoring and insight as to status
Work collaboratively and build strong working relationships within Finance and across key functional teams and stakeholders
Experience / Competences
Essential
Hold a professional accounting qualification
Significant finance operational, internal controls and change management/project experience within global, large businesses, in particular with intercompany processes
Good knowledge of IFRS financial reporting
Understanding of what good looks like for close and reporting processes and project governance
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with finance ERPs
Strong analytical, pragmatic problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Desired
Experience in the financial services industry is a plus
Established and/or worked closely with global teams
Experience of Treasury Management Systems (TMS) nice to have
This role may involve travel.
