Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Join our SEND service as a Mediation Coordinator.
Where: Based at the Town Hall, Castle Circus, Torquay, with hybrid working available.
Who: We’re looking for someone with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, experience working with children and young people with SEND, and the ability to work effectively with families and multi-agency partners.
What: You’ll coordinate and prepare for SEND mediations, appeals, and tribunals, liaising with children, families, schools, and professionals to ensure the best outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate and prepare for mediations, appeals, and tribunals in line with SEN legislation.
- Liaise with children, young people, parents/carers, schools, health, and social care teams.
- Facilitate meetings using person-centred planning approaches.
- Resolve conflicting viewpoints and employ mediation skills to reach the best outcomes for children.
- Ensure statutory duties are met efficiently and effectively.
This post meets the requirements for an Enhanced Criminal Record Check. This will show spent and unspent convictions and adult cautions which have not been filtered in line with legislation, plus any information held by local Police that is considered relevant to the role.
