Anticipated Certified School Nurse en Central York School District

Central York School District is seeking a full-time Certified School Nurse to join the Sinking Springs Elementary team.The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and knowledgeable professional dedicated to promoting the health, safety, and well-being of all students.

• Develop and maintain a program of health services in compliance with state and district requirements.
• Maintain a comprehensive health record on each pupil assigned.
• Provide for a vision and hearing screening tests and record height and weight measurements as required by the Public School Code and Board Policy.
• When appropriate, advise parents with regard to suspected health related problems and the apparent need for special medical examination or services.
• Arrange for required physicals and other tests that the Advisory Health Board may deem advisable to protect the health of the child.
• Be available and proactive in emergencies and provide first aid and medical services for injuries occurring in the school setting.
• Serve as a resource to school personnel in the health and medical field.
• Advise the administration regarding specific health needs of assigned children.
• Interact with the School Doctor and other health professionals as needed to further the objectives of the school health program.
• Perform other services reasonably related to the health and safety of pupils as assigned by the administration.
• Perform other duties related to the health and welfare of students as directed by the Building Principal.

• Current PA Registered Nurse License
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• PA School Nurse Certification
• Current health-care provider certification in Basic Life Support
• Experience in pediatric nursing, community health nursing, critical care nursing, medical-surgical nursing and/or emergency room nursing preferred
