Assists individuals and their families that are experiencing human trafficking in the community and in residence. The advocacy and support services include providing direct and indirect services that promote personal safety, safe housing and self-sufficiency. This position will focus on services for clients identifying as survivors of human trafficking seeking shelter services, as well as, community services.Job Description:

1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.2. Assesses individual and families for emergent needs; (i.e.; trauma-informed crisis intervention, safe housing and/or other relocation assistance, emotional support, safety services, safety planning, direct referrals and connection to individual counseling, support groups, and other therapeutic services).3. Provides comprehensive case management services for victims of human trafficking identified, including referrals to medical, mental health, dental, immigration/legal providers; access to appropriate benefits, housing, childcare, supportive counseling/socialization, ESL, literacy, criminal justice system victim advocates; family reunification and coordination with life skill mentors and interpreters.4. Meets regularly with clients to discuss and evaluate their progress.5. Develops a safety and service plan in coordination with the client.6. Collaborates with other service provider partners to ensure follow up and coordination of all aftercare services.7. Provides additional trauma-informed support including information about the criminal justice process and victims’ rights; and referrals to other victim service programs and resources.8. Provides long-term support and case management by assisting with safe and affordable housing options if needed, such as rapid re¬-housing, and other permanent housing.9. Develops knowledge of community resources, utilize advocacy skills and teach self-advocacy so families can expand their use of resources.10. Teaches practical skills such as self-advocacy, problem solving, and stress management to improve long-term self-sufficiency.11. Utilizes the Child Advocacy Center multi-disciplinary team model of practice to support families’ needs and effectively collaborate with other agencies.12. Completes client centered assessments with victims associated with both state and federal investigations involving their trafficking case to assess situations, service plan, and provide referrals for attorney legal advocacy as appropriate.13. Completes all required internal and external reporting accurately and on time.14. Attends and represents BSCC and the Coalition to End Human Trafficking-Coachella Valley/Riverside County at other community meetings in California to increase collaboration and information sharing.15. Travels throughout Riverside County, and occasionally state-wide and/or national travel.16. Contributes and assists to construct conference/training materials, website content information and other written materials as needed.17. Participates in community collaboration groups and represent the organization to others as requested.18. Participates in awareness and training events throughout Riverside County.19. Participates in case review with multi-disciplinary partners such as law enforcement and child protective services.20.
