Position Summary
Position SummarySenior Safety Technician is a member of the construction EHS team, responsible for partnering with employees and contractors to provide oversight and coaching, and serve as a front-line resource to accomplish work safely.
Role and Responsibilities
Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Program Promotion and Enforcement
- Providing safety support to construction operations
- Enabling Safe Work Environment Safe work environments must be completed by:
- Working collaboratively with field operations
- Using independent judgment to resolve safety-related issues
- Enforcing corporate safety policies and procedures
- Upholding our number one core value—Zero Harm Habits—with all stakeholders
- Accident/Incident Management and Recordkeeping Accident/incident management includes:
- Conducting, tracking, and reporting: Accident/incident reports, near miss reports, auditor reports, engagement activities, observations, orientations, and safety trainings, daily and weekly activities
- Maintaining effective separation/other corporate safety program-related documents
- Work Planning, Job Hazard Analysis, and Safe Work Procedures Completion of job reports includes:
- Work planning and development of job
- On-site Safety Assessments and Investigations
- Completion of the daily safe work habits includes:
- Regular field safety inspections
- Accident/incident investigations (including root cause analysis)
- Industrial hygiene assessments
- Safety audits daily and weekly:
- Information gathering, written reporting about observed safe work activities.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3 years of field safety experience in heavy civil construction, transportation, or related field
- GED / High School Diploma required
- Knowledge of general construction safety and health regulations, including OSHA 1926
- Qualified to work toward a Certified Health & Safety Technician (CHST) certificate or equivalent
- Completed OSHA 30 training
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills including Office 365 productivity suite

The current base pay range for this role is between $26.80 to $42.68. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
