Are you passionate about helping children thrive socially and emotionally? Join our Head Start team as a Behavior Support Staff member and support young learners as they grow, explore, and build the skills they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond.


Location: Berwick, PA Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–2:30 PM + 1 additional hour/week (33.5 hours/week)

Program Year: August–June

Position Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt, Benefits Eligible


In This Role, You Will:

  • Work as part of the classroom team to promote positive social-emotional development
  • Plan and implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) activities
  • Support children with behavioral needs through one-on-one guidance
  • Collaborate with classroom staff to develop and implement behavior plans
  • Track behavioral data and contribute to individualized strategies
  • Meet regularly with staff to support children's progress

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least one year of paid experience working with preschool-aged children
  • Behavioral health training and/or experience preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to supporting early childhood development in a positive and inclusive way

Physical Requirements:

This is an active role! You’ll need to:

  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Frequently kneel, bend, or sit on the floor
  • Pass a physical exam and background checks
