Essential Responsibilities:

- Perform acts that are within the scope of practice as defined by the applicable licensing board.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients as described in unit/department-based competencies, policies, and procedures.
- Accurately assess patient needs and develop/implement/review/maintain a comprehensive care plan.
- Evaluate and provide care as directed to achieve desired patient outcomes for patients newborn thru geriatric.
- Perform quality assurance functions to include maintenance of chain of evidence, documentation appropriateness, referrals, preparing and interpreting reports, and following mandatory reporting requirements.
- Educate the patient/family on physical, emotional and psychosocial aspects of examination, treatment, and care.
- Coordinate the preparedness of documents, testimony, and case facts to be presented as necessary.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation as per Health System/affiliate policy.
- Meet scheduling requirements, including nights, weekends, holidays, and call.
- Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values.
- Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
- Graduate of accredited RN program.
- Completion of a 64 hour course or two 40 hour IAFN SANE training courses within six months of hire date.
- Minimum of one year of acute care experience.
Required License/Certifications/Registrations
- Current BLS/CPR card from approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation, whichever comes first.
- Current ACLS and PALS within six months of hire date.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing or a compact state.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Preferred License/Certifications/Registrations
- SANE-A and SANE-P

- Medium Work: Occasionally exerting up to 50 lbs - constantly exerting up to 10 lbs. 26-50% of the day may be standing or walking.
