Your Role
The Commercial Marketing team supports growth and retention efforts for Commercial Sales including sales enablement, campaigns and go-to-market initiatives. Reporting to the Director, Commercial Marketing, the Marketing Strategist, Principal, will lead development of integrated marketing strategies, synthesizing inputs from key functional areas such as product and digital teams to build long-term roadmaps that drive growth with an emphasis on B2B decision-makers and campaign design.
Responsibilities
Your Work
In this role, you will:
Serve as a senior thought partner to leadership providing strategic planning, data-driven recommendations and thoughtful execution guidance
- Distill complex problems to solve, connect strategic insights, and craft solutions that align with strategic growth targets
- Create effective communications that clarify problem statements, visualize strategic concepts to influence, build understanding, and gain leadership alignment
- Intake information from a variety of sources including sales, product and digital partners to develop integrated marketing strategies and serve as main point of contact to key stakeholders
- Develop integrated marketing campaigns targeting business decision-makers and channel partners to build awareness, drive consideration and support decision
- Analyze competitive intelligence and market insights to inform campaign design through customer journey stages, locally, state-wide and nationally
- Partner closely with sales to ensure seamless integration of marketing strategies with sales and broker enablement activities
- Partner closely with digital marketing and performance analytics teams for implementation, measurement and optimization to maximize ROI
- Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of the commercial sales and account management process
Qualifications
Your Knowledge and Experience
Requires a college degree or equivalent experience
- Requires at least 10 years of prior relevant experience
- Requires expertise in strategy and B2B marketing including experience working with sales
- Requires strong knowledge of marketing principles and practices including product launch and promotion
- Requires in-depth knowledge of health plans, insurance, or financial products and services
- Requires demonstrated experience implementing and developing marketing strategies
- Embraces change, exemplifies agile principles, embodies a continuous improvement mindset, anticipating business needs while being flexible with shifting priorities
- Strong business acumen with critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making expertise in collaboration with creative teams, project partners and internal customers, driving clarity when and where needed
- Ability to build strong relationships and influence key decision makers
- Demonstrates strong personal, people, thought and results leadership, with excellent interpersonal, negotiation, written and verbal communication skills

- Hybrid (Default): Work from a business unit-approved office at least two (2) times per month (for roles below Director-level) or once per week (for Director-level roles and above). Exceptions:
o Member-facing and approved out-of-state roles remain remote.
o Employees living more than 50 miles from their assigned offices are expected to work with their managers on a plan for periodic office visits.
o For employees with medical conditions that may impact their ability to work in-office, we are committed to engaging in an interactive process and providing reasonable accommodations to ensure their work environment is conducive to their success and well-being.
- On-Site: Work from a business unit-approved office an average of four (4) or more days a week.
