As a Bakery Mixer specializing in artisan bread, you will be responsible for mixing high-quality doughs for various types of handcrafted breads, ensuring the highest standards in taste, texture, and appearance. This role involves precise measuring, mixing, and monitoring of ingredients, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with the baking team to meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Measure and mix ingredients according to specific recipes for artisan bread, including sourdough, and other specialty breads.
- Follow detailed formulas and timing protocols to ensure consistency in flavor, texture, and structure.
- Monitor the mixing process, adjusting dough consistency and temperature as needed.
- Monitor the fermentation process closely, checking on starter proofing to achieve the desired rise and flavor profile.
- Ensure dough temperature is controlled to meet production timelines and maintain high-quality results.
- Operate and maintain mixers, measuring scales, and other bakery equipment, ensuring they are clean and in proper working order.
- Report any equipment issues to maintenance or management to prevent downtime.
- Monitor the dough for proper texture, hydration, and development, making adjustments as necessary to maintain consistency.
- Keep accurate records of production, ingredients, and any adjustments made during the mixing process.
- Communicate effectively with bakers and other team members to maintain consistency across batches.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients to prevent contamination.
- Adapt to evolving job requirements and assist in other areas of production as needed, to support overall team objectives

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a commercial or artisan bakery is required.
- Knowledge of dough mixing hydration levels, fermentation, and various types of flour and ingredients used in artisan bread.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle the physical demands of lifting heavy bags of flour and operating large equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and commitment to quality.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Push/ pull heavy equipment
Reports to: Production Manager
Location: On-site – Louisville CO
Compensation is based on level of experience, other relevant experience, and requirements of the position. The range provided serves only as a guideline and does not automatically qualify all candidates (internal or external) for the high end of the range.
Compensation Range: Starting at: $23.00 per hour
