Grand Lake Health System (GLHS) is seeking a subject matter expert to support, maintain, and optimize our Altera Sunrise (Allscripts) electronic health record (EHR) system.
The successful candidate will play a key role in configuring, training, and enhancing EHR functionality to improve provider efficiency, data integrity, and patient care. This individual will work closely with physicians, clinical staff, revenue cycle teams, and IT professionals to ensure smooth EHR operations and user satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary resource for Altera Sunrise EHR configuration, support, and optimization.
Collaborate with hospital departments, providers, and technical teams to improve EHR usability and performance.
Plan, build, implement, and evaluate EHR workflows and system enhancements.
Participate in training new users and educating existing users on new features and best practices.
Support system maintenance, including installation of software releases, patches, and upgrades.
Maintain and monitor system environments (test, live, etc.) to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Troubleshoot and resolve software issues and user-reported problems in collaboration with vendors and IT support.
Promote efficient system use through workflow analysis, build configuration, and optimization.
Provide after-hours support as part of a scheduled on-call rotation.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational and departmental goals.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education/Certifications
Associate’s degree in a related medical or technical field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Alternatively, 10+ years of relevant healthcare experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience
5+ years of experience in a healthcare environment required.
Previous hands-on experience with EHR systems (Allscripts Sunrise preferred).
Demonstrated ability to analyze workflows, design solutions, and implement EHR optimizations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with hospital information systems and integrated operating environments is desired.

Ability to train and support end-users with varied technical skill levels.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Hours
Full-Time, First Shift
After-Hours On-Call Rotation required.
