STADA UK Thornton & Ross – Category Manager – Raw Material

Huddersfield | UK | Full-time | Permanent

We are currently searching for an experienced Category Manager to drive strategic innovation, optimise relationships and deliver cost efficiencies across our raw material & consumable chemicals supply-chain, within a dynamic pharmaceutical creams & liquids manufacturing environment.

How You Will Make An Impact: 

• Act as the primary owner and expert for all Raw Material procurement topics.
• Lead sourcing, negotiation and contracting activities across tactical and strategic spend.
• Monitor supplier performance, driving contractual, legislative and regulatory compliance alongside collaborative improvement.
• Foster strong supplier relationships focused on quality, service and cost improvement, controlling supplier capability and capacity development projects.
• Collaborate with Global Procurement to implement category strategies for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and Excipients.
• Deliver cost-saving initiatives, support operational efficiency programs (OPEX) and contribute to product development budgeting projects.
• Track procurement KPIs, manage risk mitigation plans and ensure efficient PO-to-Pay processes.

What We Are Looking For:

• Expertise in end-to-end procurement, with SAP experience preferred.
• Demonstrable experience in chemical / food / FMCG manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of procurement nuances therein.
• Strong negotiation skills and proven ability to secure favourable supplier terms and manage contracts effectively.
• Solid understanding of contract law and industry regulations, with tenacious analytical and commercial acumen.
• Skilled in financial planning, budget management and tracking procurement KPIs.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills across all levels.
• Proven leadership experience with adaptability and resilience to manage multiple projects, priorities, and teams under pressure.
